This seminar analyses current efforts to transition into a more sustainable systems at various levels with a focus on necessary social tipping points. Recent research has pointed out a number of critical system, from finance to fossil fuel subsidies, that need to rapidly and fundamentally change in order to achieve full decarbonization of the world economy. We will carefully assess what has been achieved to date and how activism and political action can accelerate the ongoing transition.
