Energy transition - how (fast) will we rock it?
Reinhard Haas (Vienna University of Technology)
The way to an agreeable climate must above all include an energy transition. It excludes fossil energy sources and relies mainly on renewable energy carriers, but also concerns key aspects like energy efficiency. This workshop highlights the political and economic framework which is necessary to assure a fast and secure transition towards a renewable energy grid. What are our political targets and how can we reach them? Which policies shape the energy transition and how can we influence them? What fundamental differences does a renewable energy market have compared to our current market of fossil fuels?
Adopt the role of different stake holders in a local community and experience the political and social constraints of implementing a renewable energy source via a simulation game.
